Kimberly Joseph

Hello! My name is Kim, and I am in the last year of my master’s in Social Work program at the University of Chicago. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Wellesley College where I studied Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies.

Since adolescence, I have dreamed of becoming a therapist and providing care to those in need. I believe that love and trust are essential for the successful development of any therapeutic relationship, and it is my goal as a clinician to create a safe space for my clients. I believe in considering every potential aspect of my clients’ lives, including the social, historical, biological, and emotional components. My goal is to support clients in their journeys through the hills and valleys of everyday life, and to empower them to build resilience and strength to endure those challenges and celebrate themselves.

Prior to joining DASC, I gained experience working with people across the age span, and from all walks of life, and I use that experience to inform my practice. My practice often includes a mix of therapeutic interventions, including (but not limited to) Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

In my free time, you’ll find me reading romances, going to the park, and annoying my cat Onion.
