Hester Buell (She/her)
When things in life are uncertain, it’s easy to get stuck in black-and-white thinking, unwanted thoughts, and self-blame. My goal as a therapist is to help you loosen the grip of these painful patterns, and help you see yourself with curiosity and compassion.
I bring a liberatory, intersectional lens to this work, and I aim to create a space where all parts of you are welcome. I’m especially passionate about working with folks navigating anxiety disorders, chronic health conditions, and religious trauma.
Before training as a therapist, I worked in various nonprofits throughout Chicagoland, overseeing programs and providing one-on-one career counseling. I’m currently completing my Masters in Social Work at the University of Chicago, with a focus on community mental health.
When I’m not in session, you can find me reading Postmodern American Fiction, learning random linguistics facts, and cooking meals with the lovely people in my housing co-op.
