Anna Freeman, LSW (She/her)

Hi, I am Anna Freeman, and my pronouns are she/her. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign. I received my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

I have experience working with several different age groups and populations. I have most recently worked in court-mandated therapy which has taught me a lot about talking to and connecting with my clients. This experience taught me my most valuable lesson when providing therapy which is meeting the client where they are at.

When providing therapy now, I like to be mindful of my clients’ experiences and backgrounds and use that in my treatment. I use CBT and ACT when treating disorders and mental health conditions as well as psychodynamic theory when needed to really dive into my client’s past. The most important thing I practice is meeting my clients where they are in a nonjudgmental and safe environment. I know how scary and daunting therapy can feel, which is why I strive to create a safe and enjoyable environment where my clients feel as though they have a say in their treatment throughout our time together. I am here to help my clients reach and achieve their goals and it is very important to me that they feel that autonomy along the way.

In my free time, I enjoy staying active whether that is in the gym weight lifting, or hiking and biking outdoors. I believe exercise is a great form of stress relief and it definitely is a coping mechanism for me!

Anna Freeman is currently accepting new clients.
