Adult Social Anxiety Group

In person at DASC’s Lakeview office

Please email McKenzie Gallagher for specific times and dates for this group.

DASC offers a social anxiety group that is a 13-week, closed group for adults who experience social anxiety and find themselves avoiding social situations. The group structure was created through Hoffman and Otto’s (2008) group protocol outlined in “Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Social Anxiety Disorder: Evidence-based and Disorder Specific Treatment Techniques.”

This group incorporates additional evidence-based treatment, including mindfulness, values work, ACT metaphors, and exposures that utilize Dr. Michelle G. Craske’s research on inhibitory learning. Older adolescents may be able to join this group if deemed clinically appropriate.
